Brilliant performance from Will in the Oxfordshire heat of the Historical Association’s Great Debate 2016.
Lower Sixth student Will R recently represented the school in the Oxfordshire heat of the Historical Association’s Great Debate 2016.
Tasked with answering the question ‘How did the First World War Impact you and your Community’, Will focused on the impact the war had on the Bloxham community and how this has in turn filtered down to him.’ The judges were particularly complimentary about how Will used the story of Captain Basil Brooks, explaining how he ‘skilfully drew bigger themes from this personal story to talk about how the war resonates more directly with you and your school community.’
Unfortunately Will’s performance was not quite enough to win the heat, however it was an impressive public speaking debut.”
