On Friday 4th November 2016, Bloxham School’s first form students had a fantastic time attending a workshop organised by the Royal Shakespeare Company at Broughton Castle.
The First Form students had a brilliant time at Broughton Castle last Friday.
Local MP, Victoria Prentis, organised a workshop for 11-12 year olds in conjunction with the Royal Shakespeare Company to mark the 400th anniversary of William Shakespeare’s death. Bloxham School’s first form students were very fortunate to attend the workshop where they participated in a series of exercises that helped them explore “Hamlet.” Working alongside some of RSC’s best actors, who provided interesting anecdotes and fun facts from the world of theatre, really brought the play to life.
Broughton Castle provided a dramatic backdrop for the workshop, allowing the children to delve into Shakespeare’s world in a historic context, and the whole experience was met with infectious enthusiasm and enquiry.
