On Monday 10th October A-level politics students travelled to London to tour the Houses of Parliament and speak to local MP Victoria Prentis.

The day started with a tour of the Houses of Parliament, with highlights including viewings of the 900-year-old Westminster Hall and the spectacular Lords Chamber with its lavish interior. The students then had a question and answer session with Victoria Prentis, MP for North Oxfordshire and the conversation covered a range of topics, including the controversy around the closure of the Maternity Unit at Banbury Horton General Hospital.

To continue this theme, the students joined the “Save Our Horton” protest march to Downing Street before a one hour tour of the Supreme Court. To end the day, students were fortunate to hear some of the debate on Welsh independence in the House of Lords.
