On Thursday October 6th, Katie Elin-Salt, a professional actress, visited Bloxham School to discuss the current Lower Sixth play, Love Steals Us From Loneliness with the class.’
Katie’s credits include recently performing at the National Theatre and The Globe, touring with numerous prestigious companies. Katie performed the role of Catrin in the original cast of Love Steals Us From Loneliness, written by the famous playwright Gary Owen, and was inundated with questions from the students. The students were able to gain a deeper understanding of the play’s origins, characters and key themes, whilst enjoying the experience of speaking to an original cast member, full of anecdotes from the play’s origins and exploration. The students will be able to use these insights as they devise their own production of the play, and will collaborate to construct a performance to be staged early next year.
A huge thanks goes to Katie for sharing her time and knowledge with the Students. It was an extremely valuable session and will undoubtedly help them during their A-level studies.
