Bloxham’s hockey goalkeepers have received top class training from England U18 Coach, Mike Irving over the last fortnight.
Bloxham School Hockey players were extremely fortunate to take part in a training session with England U18 coach Mike Irving on Tuesday 4th and Tuesday 11th October 2016.
Mike Irving owns and manages Sport101, a business that provides top-class training for talented athletes, through a range of events and workshops.
Mike worked with all of the girl’s hockey team’s goalkeepers to develop their technical skills and they all massively improved over the two sessions he provided. Bloxham’s coaches furthered their CPD and will use what they learnt from Mike in the Lower School hockey sessions. Mike also provided individual sessions including a one to one with Fergus (pictured), who has just been selected for the Futures Cup Hockey team.
A huge thanks goes out to Mike for his inspiring and confidence-giving coaching. This valuable training opportunity will undoubtedly benefit the players in their matches over the next half of term.
