This weekend, Bloxham School Second Formers enjoyed a brilliant time at Ullswater Outward Bound Centre in the Lake District

The pupils had a wonderful time in the Lake District, taking part in a range of adventurous activities, both on dry land and in the water!

The weekend began with team building exercises and classroom sessions. Then, on the Saturday, the group were split into teams to complete their own expeditions. Mr O’Brien’s group enjoyed a combination of gorge walking and cliff jumping, before completing a hike and sleeping under the stars. Meanwhile, Mr Hobley’s team canoed to Glenridge to begin their hike up Helvellyn (which was no mean feat!), where they slept in a lodge before descending the next morning. Finally, Mrs Heathcote’s group enjoyed canoeing the entire length of Ullswater, before hiking with tents and cooking gear for five hours to reach the summit of High Dodd. This is where the group chose to pitch their tents for the night, before returning via Hightown the next morning and catching a rib towards their starting point.’

This was a brilliant weekend for all those students involved and well done to each of them on throwing themselves into each of the activities with great enthusiasm. View a complete album of photos from the trip here.
