On Thursday 17th March, Bloxham School had its annual Mission Day, when a team from Christians in Sport came into school
Mission Day is designed to support the ‘Christian Values’ pillar of a Bloxham School education and the Chaplain’s ministry of proclaiming the good news about Jesus Christ. The team, led by Nathan Elliott with two interns and ten Academy students, delivered lessons to our First and Second Form pupils about sport in the Bible, as well as a sports quiz with testimony to our Fourth Form. Having sat at tables to socialise with students at lunch, the team led a sports challenge in the afternoon for about 80 students. There were four team challenges and everybody thoroughly enjoyed themselves.
Nathan then preached during the evening’s junior Chapel service from John 14 about Jesus being ‘the way and the truth and the life’. We were also extremely grateful to Tom Woodbridge who came especially on Friday evening to preach the same passage at our senior Chapel.
The whole day was a wonderful example of young Christian men and women who love Jesus also expressing their faith through sport and everyday conversations ‘ an excellent opportunity for our students to find out more and for Christians to be encouraged.
