OB John Williams has been appointed President of England Golf and will take up the position in 2017
An Old Bloxhamist has been appointed to one of the country’s top posts in amateur sport.’
At the end of’next year’John Williams will succeed Marian Rae as President of England Golf for 2017. England Golf is the governing body for amateur golf in England. It is one of the country’s largest sports governing bodies and looks after the interests of more than 1,900 golf clubs and 675,000 men, women, boy and girl club members.
A member of Gog Magog Golf Club in Cambridgeshire for over 30 years, John has been a referee for the English Golf Union (EGU) and England Golf for the last 10 years and is a past Chairman of the Championship Committee. He has also been a’regular supporter of Old Bloxhamist Golf, taking part in OB meetings for many years.
