Bloxham has previously celebrated the many canoeing successes of Arthur Urquhart – this time it’s the turn of his younger siblings

Canoeing is a passion in the Urquhart family and Bloxham has previously celebrated the many successes of Arthur Urquhart in his canoe. This time it’s the turn of his younger siblings, and we are delighted to see them working their way through the ranks, gaining recognition with every race.

Jessie, who only joined First Form at Bloxham at the start of term, has been racing hard all season, winning her most recent medal just over a week ago when she finished as the first girl in her category of the mini-sprint series for 2014. Jessie’has competed at all four of the qualifying national regattas this year, doing a mixture of K1, K2 and K4 – it’s likely she has finished the season with promotion to the next level for U12s for next year.’In addition to the sprint racing, Jessie had earned the most points in marathon racing over everyone in the country.

George Urquhart has also been busy this year, recently competing for a team from Bath with whom he had never raced before, as well as racking up a fair few points and prizes in marathon races this year, evening earning promotion into the division above.
