The Raymond Fund, a restricted fund, was established at Bloxham in 2024 to support our Raymond Scholars. Raymond Scholarships are means-tested awards offered to pupils showing talent or potential, typically where significant financial assistance is required to access a Bloxham education.

In 1984 the Roger Raymond Charitable Trust, originally settled by OB Roger Raymond (Cr 1920-28) in 1971, established the Raymond Scholarship programme to support a small number of pupils at the School in Roger’s memory. Over the years, the Trust has continued to fund the programme which has now grown in scope and currently supports 12 students at the School.

Donations to The Raymond Fund together with income from the School’s Endowment Funds both ensure that the School can support a number of Raymond Scholars each year. While a percentage of the cost of the Raymond Scholar programme is funded by the School, the programme is largely funded by philanthropic gifts from The Roger Raymond Charitable Trust, the Bloxham community and other charitable trusts and foundations.

It is the School’s ambition to increase the number of Raymond Scholars at the School through the raising of philanthropic funds.

I joined Bloxham in the Sixth Form on a fully-funded place having previously studied at the Warriner. The School provided me with the opportunity to explore other opportunities, to travel, to be part of a team and to excel, as well as exposing me to a very different culture. I feel very lucky to have had the opportunity to attend Bloxham, without the Raymond Scholarship I would not be where I am now. Being at Bloxham, opened the door to a world of new opportunities, helped me to grow as an individual and gave me access to a network for life.

Muqaddas Ahmed (Mn 19-21), Raymond Scholar
