This year’s OB v School annual sailing contest was again a great family occasion with many spectators supporting the teams. It was fantastic to welcome OB and current parents Dan Schnurr (Wf 82-84), Tom Mawby-Groome (Sy 89-94) and Henry Powell (Sy 90-95), as well as Pippa Little (Ry 17-22) and Will Howells (Wn 15-22).

Due to the light winds, it was a difficult sailing day for the OBs. The School team had better familiarity with their new Fevas (double handed racing dinghies) allowing them to target the start line more efficiently and the OBs appeared to always be playing catch up. However, there was some good competitive racing, wonderful experiences and much fun was had by all.

In the end, the School team won quite easily.

Head of Sailing, Mark Skevington, presented the Douglas Perrin Trophy to Jake F, this year’s Sailing and School Captain. The teams also had much joy in celebrating Harry S’s 18th birthday and enjoyed a BBQ, cake and champagne following the sailing.
